La via del sale started in 2004 in Salzburg, the city of salt, where Nazario Zambaldi was artist in residence at the Künstlerhaus. He continued in 2005 with the Genesis exhibition at the Magazzini del sale in Venice. He re-emerges with theatrical and performance work that thematises the city as a mental and experiential place, in particular in 2017 with Siamo il sale della terra, a collective performance in Bolzano's Piazza Università made together with guests from asylum seekers' centres as part of the production Polis (the city is no longer).
On the occasion of Ugo La Pietra's exhibition La via del sale consists of ten stations in ten places in the city. Salt, which represents the earth, is scattered, in the horizontality that comes to life through art. The actions play symbolically with the end of the city "sprinkled with salt", but also with other meanings of possible community re-foundation, such as wisdom, gift, hospitality...
The boards of the project are exhibited in the Macello space.

La via del sale parte nel 2004 a Salisburgo, la città del sale, dove Nazario Zambaldi è artist in residence presso la Künstlerhaus. Prosegue nel 2005 con l'esposizione genesi ai Magazzini del sale di Venezia. Riemerge con il lavoro teatrale e performativo che tematizza la città come luogo mentale e esperienziale, in particolare nel 2017 con Siamo il sale della terra performance collettiva in piazza Università a Bolzano realizzata insieme a ospiti dei centri richiedenti asilo all'interno della produzione Polis (the city is no longer).
In occasione della mostra di Ugo La Pietra La via del sale si compone di dieci stazioni in dieci luoghi della città. Il sale, che rappresenta la terra, viene sparso, nell'orizzontalità che prende vita attraverso l'arte.
Le azioni giocano simbolicamente con la fine della città "cosparsa di sale", ma anche con altri significati di possibile rifondazione comunitaria, quali saggezza, dono, ospitalità...
Le tavole del progetto sono esposte presso lo spazio Macello.
