Patterns of female disobedience in the ancient world.
Centro nevralgico del progetto il libro dell’autrice Giuliana Cadelli (“Le trasgressive. Il coraggio di dire no. Modelli di disobbedienza femminile nel mondo antico, Battello Stampatore, 2021”) presente all’evento insieme al cantautore Francesco Cervino, che ha dialogato musicalmente con i partecipanti quasi in forma di worskhop.
Reali protagoniste del progetto alcune figure di donne dell’immaginario greco e romano, forti nel pensiero e nella voce; donne che incutono timore e che hanno valicato i confini imposti loro dal patriarcato. Sono donne autonome che scelgono, agiscono, e pagano per le loro scelte – donne che spaventano, ieri come oggi.
Il progetto si è svolto in collaborazione con lo Spazio77 nella sede di via Dalmazia 77 in forma di dialogo, confronto e laboratorio artistico giocando sull’interazione tra parola e musica, lettura di testi e dibattito tra autori e pubblico.
The nerve center of the project is author Giuliana Cadelli's book ("The Transgressives. The Courage to Say No. Models of female disobedience in the ancient world, Battello Stampatore, 2021") present at the event along with singer-songwriter Francesco Cervino, who dialogued musically with the participants almost in the form of a worskhop.
Real protagonists of the project are some figures of women from Greek and Roman imagery, strong in thought and voice; women who instill awe and have crossed the boundaries imposed on them by patriarchy. They are autonomous women who choose, act, and pay for their choices-women who frighten, yesterday as today.
The project was held in collaboration with Spazio77 in the venue at 77 Dalmatia Street in the form of a dialogue, discussion and artistic workshop playing on the interaction between words and music, reading of texts and debate between authors and audience.
Men have always feared women, feared their knowledge, their beauty, their character, and have always, in every corner of the world, curbed them, relegating them to stereotypical and always secondary roles. But it is possible to say "NO" to say "I'M NOT IN"; it is possible to disobey and transgress. The author presented, through a kind of reading, some figures of women belonging to the Greek and Roman symbolic imagery, mythical characters, goddesses, heroines, seers, sorceresses or independent women, strong in thought and voice connected to wisdom, prophecy, seduction; women who give voice to their thoughts and who instill awe and have crossed the boundaries imposed on them by a male world.
They are "non-aligned" women and qualify for two distinctive traits they want to know and they want to act autonomously, they are protagonists who choose, act, pay for their choices and foment by their actions the terror of the patriarchal system towards the other par excellence, the female, the fear of having to share knowledge and consequently primacy with her.
Musician Francesco Cervino broke up the tale, as if to rhythmically scan the narrative, integrating it with the evocative language of his songwriting.
These pages led the participants in this seminar to the discovery of the "untamed" - including Antigone, Medea, Deianira. Circe, but also Helena and Pandora - women who give voice to their thoughts and are frightening because of that. Yesterday as today.
Gli uomini da sempre temono le donne, temono il loro sapere, la loro bellezza, la loro indole, e da sempre, in ogni angolo del mondo, le hanno arginate, relegandole a ruoli stereotipati e sempre secondari. Ma è possibile dire “NO” dire “IO NON CI STO”; è possibile disobbedire e trasgredire. L’autrice ha presentato, attraverso una sorta di reading, alcune figure di donne appartenenti all’immaginario simbolico greco e romano, personaggi del mito, dee, eroine, veggenti, maghe o donne indipendenti, forti nel pensiero e nella voce connesse a sapienza, profezia, seduzione; donne che danno voce ai loro pensieri e che incutono timore e che hanno valicato i confini imposti loro da un mondo maschile.
Sono donne “non allineate” e si qualificano per due tratti distintivi vogliono sapere e vogliono agire autonomamente, sono protagoniste che scelgono, agiscono, pagano per le loro scelte e fomentano con il loro agire il terrore del sistema patriarcale nei confronti dell’altro per eccellenza, la femmina, il timore di dover condividere con lei il sapere e di conseguenza il primato.
Il musicista Francesco Cervino ha spezzato il racconto, come a scandire ritmicamente la narrazione, integrandolo con il linguaggio evocativo del suo cantautorato.
Queste pagine hanno condotto i partecipanti a questo seminario alla scoperte delle “indomite” – tra cui Antigone, Medea, Deianira. Circe, ma anche Elena e Pandora – donne che danno voce ai loro pensieri e che per questo spaventano. Ieri come oggi.
